Job Description

Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Associate Athletic Director of Ticket Operations and the lead of the Assistant Athletic Director of Ticket Operations, the Ticket Office Sales Representative provides customer service and ticket sales duties in person and via the telephone. Customer base includes current season ticket holders, SDSU students, SDSU faculty/staff, and the general public. This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position, scheduled to end on or before December 31, 2024, with a possibility of reappointment. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. The individual hired into this role will work at SDSU Snapdragon Stadium.

Department Summary The Department of Athletics, utilizing the services of over 150 employees, is responsible for the intercollegiate athletics program at San Diego State University.  Currently, there are 18 sport programs, approximately 500 student-athletes, and 17 offices in the department.  The offices include the following:  The Aztec Club, Administration, Athletic Medicine, Business Office, Compliance, Corporate Sales, Development, Equipment, Event Management/Facilities and Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, Media Relations, Strength and Conditioning, Student-Athlete Academic Support Services, Ticket Office, and Video. Education and Experience Working knowledge of mathematical and general office methods, practices, and procedures. Ability to learn basic financial record-keeping methods, procedures, and practices; make mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy; maintain files and records; follow oral and written directions; communicate effectively with others; read, understand, and apply rules and regulations; and use current computer word processing and spreadsheet software programs, web browsers, integrated financial systems and/or other types of records management systems, such as student accounting, cashiering and student financial aid to complete tasks. Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Key Qualifications Ticket office/ticket sales and cash handling experience. Strong customer service skills. Effective interpersonal and verbal/writing skills. Ability to travel to away games for various sports. Some experience with Ticketmaster is preferred.
