Description

This position is responsible for obtaining, evaluating, and documenting student athlete academic credentials in accordance with NCAA and Southern Conference regulations.

Job Duties

  • Maintain and manage all student athlete eligibility certification documentation
  • Interact regularly with Athletic Compliance team regarding academic progress for all student athletes
  • Academically certify all incoming student athletes, including verification of future and projected eligibility for prospective and transfer student athletes
  • Perform degree audits for every student athlete to ensure NCAA compliance
  • Oversee use of university’s athletic compliance software
  • Attend regular Athletics meetings, training sessions, and University Curriculum Meetings as representative of Registrar’s office
  • Research latest interpretations of NCAA and Southern Conference academic regulations
  • Access NCAA clearinghouse to obtain initial eligibility documentation
  • Interact with Athletic Compliance team regarding degree requirements and degree audit reports
  • Create annually the Athletic Certification calendar
  • Works closely with Athletics and OIE to develop methods to report on student athletes
  • Creates and runs reports for university registrar regarding academic progress of all student athletes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One years' experience working in a higher education environment
