Job Description
The position reports to the Director of University Broadcast & Athletics Technology. The manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of athletic event productions and ensuring high production standards. The manager will lead and support the broadcast staff, hire and train student workers, manage external partnerships, and handle technical issues during live broadcasts. Additionally, this position will create engaging content, operate media equipment, manage IT systems, and assist with various livestreaming productions.

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of athletic event broadcast productions, including games, press conferences, special events, and announcements.
  • Ensure that all broadcast productions comply with conference regulations and meet high production standards.
  • Supervise and lead the broadcast staff, providing guidance, support, and mentoring.
  • Hire, train, and schedule student workers and external talent to assist with broadcast operations.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with external broadcast partners, such as ESPN and conference affiliates.
  • Assist with the creation of specialty content for videoboard and other multimedia platforms.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical issues during live broadcasts, ensuring uninterrupted coverage of events.
  • Craft engaging narratives and storylines around athletic events, providing context and analysis to enhance the audience’s understanding and enjoyment.
  • Setup and operate digital media production equipment in studio and on location.
  • Manage and support various IT systems related to Athletics and broadcasting.
  • Provide guidance to faculty, staff, students, and clients on the application of digital media equipment and methods.
  • Assist with various aspects of livestreaming productions for special events, lectures, commencements, etc.
  • Perform routine maintenance and general upkeep of all broadcast equipment and spaces.
Salary Range $44,918 - $51,929; Salary commensurate with experience and internal equity.

Required Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, information technology, communications, sports management, arts/media, etc.


Experience
  • One year of experience in live video production and streaming media.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Availability to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications

Education
Experience
  • Two years of experience in live athletic video production and videoboard setup and operations.
  • One year experience with setup and engineering mobile productions.
  • Broadcasting experience.
