General Summary

The Director of On-Campus Recruiting and Operations will oversee the football program’s on-campus recruiting efforts, while adhering to all University, departmental, Mid-American Conference and NCAA regulations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily recruiting operational and logistical processes with the Eastern Michigan University Football program.
  • Assist with the planning and supervise execution of 12-month vision of recruiting calendar and recruiting marketing plan (mail, video, graphics, social media, etc.).
  • Supervise planning and coordinating of official and unofficial visits to campus (itineraries, travel, hotel, hosts, meals, name tags, seating charts, compliance paperwork, complimentary tickets, etc.).
  • Coordinate completion and submission of required paperwork and expense reports.
  • Supervise coordination of travel for coaches on the road recruiting.
  • Supervise operator/dispatcher when coaches and/or prospects are traveling to campus.
  • Assist in the identification, evaluation, collection of data, etc. on prospects to provide direction to the coaching staff through available and permissible sources (e.g. recruiting services, websites, etc.).
  • Create and update recruiting lists at the direction of the coaching staff.
  • Coordinate updates to the recruiting database.
  • Monitor the number of contacts and evaluations conducted by the coaching staff and work with Athletics Compliance Services to ensure records are consistent.
  • Coordinate securing, evaluating and filing of transcripts for selected prospects in collaboration with Student Services and Compliance Services Staff.
  • Monitor and work collaboratively with the staff to keep them updated on any rule changes (University, MAC, and NCAA).
  • Serve as a liaison between all departments on recruiting matters (compliance, admissions, student services, strength and conditioning, sports medicine, travel, business, facilities, housing, parking, etc.).
  • Oversee the student-athlete on-boarding process (NCAA initial-eligibility center, university admissions, housing, etc.)
  • Coordinate annual summer football camp series.
  • Supervise coordination of all student-athlete housing for football program.
  • Recruit and supervise a team of interns/student assistants to assist with all recruiting events.
  • Assist the Associate AD for Football Operations & Recruiting and the Director of Football Operations with team travel and other administrative duties associated with practice, competition, and football related events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach and Associate AD for Football Operations & Recruiting.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Excellent management and organizational skills and knowledge of multiple computer software and databases.

Must possess the ability to work extended hours, meet project deadlines, and work under time constraint pressures.

Ability to work nights, weekends, and non-traditional hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years of experience working with a collegiate football program is desirable.

Strong working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to successfully interact with diverse individuals from both University and community related constituencies for maximizing University and departmental goals, objective, relationships and representation.
