  • Possess or be able to obtain certification by the NATABOC.
  • Eligible for State of Texas Athletic Training License.
  • Current Certifications in First Aid/CPR/AED.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
  • Previous athletic training experience with a collegiate football program.
Job Description
Texas State University is seeking applications for the position of a Head Athletic Trainer for Football. This position is a 12-month appointment, full-time benefits eligible position.
Responsible for the care, prevention of injury, and rehabilitation of student athletes and assisting with administrative daily activities of the athletic training room including the supervision of student athletic trainers.
Job Duties
The Head Football Athletic Trainer will assist in the day-to-day management of the athletics sports medicine operation as it relates to the football student-athletes. This position will serve as a primary athletic trainer for football with responsibilities that include but are not limited to: coordination of injury prevention, treatment welfare and rehabilitation of student-athletes for football; supervision of football Assistant AT and student assistants for football; and other duties as assigned.
