Job Description

 

The University of Missouri’s Women’s Basketball Program is seeking a Head Coach.  

This individual will be responsible for:

Adhering to and enforcing all policies and procedures of the Department and University, as well as rules and regulations of the SEC, NCAA and other authorities that may legitimately influence the intercollegiate athletics program.

Overseeing the recruitment and selection of student athletes while ensuring compliance guidelines are met.

Providing leadership and instruction for the overall, athletic and personal development of student-athletes.

Monitoring the eligibility status and promote the academic progress of student-athletes.

Developing and submit the sport’s annual budget.

Scheduling and conducting regular practice sessions in and out of season, as permitted by NCAA rules and regulations.

Developing  and implementing strategies for motivating student-athletes to perform at maximum levels as both individuals and as a team.

Arranging a competitive schedule and ensuring team travel arrangements comply with University, SEC and NCAA rules and regulations.

Overseeing the conditioning and training of team members, in conjunction with the strength and conditioning coaches and athletic training staff to ensure that student-athletes are physically prepared for competition.

Hiring and supervising assigned personnel and ensuring their compliance with applicable rules, policies and procedures.

Participating in public relations activities, to include speaking engagements, television and radio interviews, press conferences and appearances at fund raising events as approved or requested.

Assisting in attempts to increase interest in the sport and attendance at competitions.

Cooperating with all coaches and administrative staff within the intercollegiate athletics program to enhance overall departmental operation.
 

Shift

 

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required. 
 

Minimum Qualifications

 

A Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

 

Preferred Qualifications: Prior Women’s Basketball coaching experience is preferred.
 

Anticipated Hiring Range

 

Salary is commensurate with education and experience
