Job Purpose
The purpose of the Head Tennis Coach is to lead and develop the Tennessee Tech Tennis program, to provide leadership and growth for all student-athletes to progress toward a degree. To possess the knowledge and technical expertise, ability to develop skills in players, to apply teaching and methodology, game management, and effective program discipline and motivational techniques to provide leadership and growth for a Division I Athletics program.

Essential Functions
Heads all aspects of the tennis program including practices and conditioning, player development, recruiting, public relations, and supporting the academic development and graduation of student-athletes.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. A minimum of two years of successful coaching at the NCAA D-I level, three years of successful head coaching at a collegiate institution or comparable club coaching, four years of successful head coaching at a high school, or four years of successful collegiate playing experience at a D-I institution. Proven record of collegiate or professional tennis playing and/or coaching experience. Education and experience necessary to perform all the functions of a Division I Head Tennis Coach. Commitment to adhere to NCAA and OVC rules and regulations as well as University policies and procedures.

Beyond meeting minimum requirements, candidates will be evaluated in terms of how their experience and education have prepared them for Division I coaching, including the academic development and graduation of student-athletes, promoting the welfare of student-athletes, recruiting, practice, conditioning, player and public relations, and fundraising.
