Full-Time Accounting & Finance Faculty Position

Davis & Elkins College is a private college in the liberal arts tradition, located in the vibrant town of Elkins, WV. The College is an affiliate of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and covenant partner with the Presbytery of West Virginia. Institutional Research Analyst

Davis & Elkins College invites applications for an Institutional Research Analyst. This position supports the College’s mission and decision-making processes through the collection, analysis, and dissemination of institutional data and by supporting the office’s use of Office365 tools. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES  

External Reporting  

  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports to external agencies, including the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and other mandated reporting entities. 
  • Respond to data requests from government, accrediting bodies, and other external stakeholders.  

Internal Reporting and Analysis  

  •  Respond to requests for data from college departments and offices to fulfill research requests and provide data for internal needs. 
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and data visualization tools to communicate insights effectively. 
  • Assist in the preparation of annual and ad hoc institutional reports, including enrollment, retention, and outcomes data.  

     Data Integrity and Management  

    • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of institutional data through rigorous quality control processes.

        Nursing Faculty

        Nursing Enrollment Advisor Job Posting

        Public Safety Officer

        This position provides safety and security coverage to the campus of Davis and Elkins College.  This person secures campus buildings & facilities, makes rounds and responds to calls.  The schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the department, including evenings, nights and/or weekends. 

        DUTIES: 

        • Respond to students/staff with safety concerns as presented and in accordance with written policies and procedures. 
        • Provide on-campus shuttle service for students, staff and faculty as requested. 
        • Conduct foot patrols every hour after buildings have been secured. 
        • Enforce campus policies as per direction of Director (e.g., parking, alcohol) 
        • Maintain appropriate records and reports. 
        • Secure buildings in manner as developed by Director.  
        • Direct traffic at events and enforce traffic/parking violations. 
        • Conduct preliminary investigations of all crimes and violations of conduct. 
        • Attend trainings or other meetings as called by the supervisor.

        Supported Learning Program (SLP) Instructor, The Naylor Learning Center

        The SLP Instructor works with students of varying abilities with disabilities and provides both individual and group support inside and outside of the classroom with the goal of promoting the retention, success and graduation of students with disabilities at D&E. The successful candidate will work closely with students, the Director of the Naylor Learning Center and faculty and staff across campus to: develop, monitor, evaluate and revise academic success plans for students with disabilities; coordinate academic advising; refer students to internal or external resources and services, assist in the instruction of Foundation courses and improvement of the assigned students academic skills development ; review disability documentation and provide services connected to test and note taking. 

        The SLP instructor must possess: a knowledge of the social, emotional and academic aspects of disability; a working knowledge of disability law; the ability to protect confidential information and exercise discretion while managing multiple responsibilities; strong interviewing, counseling, advising, and communication (written and oral) skills and the ability to work with a diverse student population. A completed master’s degree is required by the above start date, in Counseling, Education, Special Education, Social Work, Psychology or a closely related field. Experience working with students with disabilities, case management, data reporting, Microsoft Office, and assistive technology are also preferred.

        AV/Technology Support Specialist

        We are looking for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented audio visual technician to join our team. The responsibilities of the audio visual technician include transporting equipment, setting up cameras, lighting, and video equipment, editing and copying videotapes, and ordering inventory. To be successful as an audio visual technician, you should have experience transporting, assembling, operating, and repairing equipment used for multimedia production. A great audio visual technician is creative, flexible, and detail-oriented, with good communication and teamwork skills. 

        Duties 

        • Transporting, setting up, and installing media equipment and audiovisual support tools, including speakers, monitors, cameras, and equipment racks. 
        • Setting up and performing electrical wiring, programming, and basic construction according to layout diagrams and schedules. 
        • Running tests on videos, audio, and signals and troubleshooting any problems that arise. 
        • Meeting clients’ standards by handling equipment malfunctions and executing a flawless event. 
        • Disassembling equipment, wiring, and support tools in a safe manner. 
        • Performing inventory management on equipment, wiring, and accessories.

        Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

        Davis & Elkins College seeks a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.  This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of strength and conditioning programs for student-athletes within the college’s athletics program.  This role involves designing and implementing strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs to enhance athletic performance, reduce the risk of injury, and promote overall physical development.  

        RESPONSIBILITIES 

        *Design, implement, and schedule strength and conditioning programs to enhance the strength, power, agility, speed, and conditioning of student-athletes.  Programs should be tailored to the individual needs and sport-specific demands of student-athletes. 

        *Work in cooperation with the athletic training staff to help reduce the risk of injury and to help develop return to play plans if injuries occur. 

        *Facilitate a collaborative relationship with sport coaches and athletic training staff. 

        *Maintain weight room equipment to ensure a clean and safe workspace for student-athletes.  Oversee inventory management, procurement, and maintenance of exercise equipment, weights, machines, and training accessories. 

        *Develop a system for tracking student-athlete attendance and progress in conjunction with sport coaches. 

        *Determine and reinforce expectations for student-athlete conduct that mirror the school’s expectations. 

        *Educate student-athletes on proper exercise technique, nutrition, hydration, recovery strategies, and lifestyle habits conducive to optimal performance. 

        *Additional duties as assigned. 

        EDUCATION/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: 

        *B.S. in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, or related field.  Master’s degree preferred. 

        *Must posses Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or equivalent credential.   

        *Current first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certifications. 

        *A strong knowledge of basic strength training techniques and Olympic lifts and the ability to demonstrate the appropriate skills and techniques to be used by student-athletes, as well as the ability to visually monitor student-athletes. 

        *Experience and/or expertise in strength and conditioning programming for collegiate populations.  Minimum of two years of experience preferred. 

        *Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to interact positively with student-athletes, athletic trainers, and other members of the athletic department. 

        *Must be flexible, self-motivated, and willing to work evenings and weekends.

        Athletic Trainer

        The Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting in the overall direction of the sports medicine/athletic training program for Davis & Elkins College Athletics.  This position reports to the Head Athletic Trainer. 

         The successful candidate will work with coaching staff to provide prevention and treatment of student athletics, coverage of practice and competitions, scheduling of examinations and referrals, and assisting with insurance claims, as well as, accurately documenting injuries, and instruction and supervision of student workers.  

         Additional duties may include annual certification training of athletics department staff in first aid and CPR, equipment and facility upkeep, inventory, and reviewing emergency operating procedures. 

         MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:   

        • BOC Certified 
        • Master’s Degree in related field from an accredited program 

        KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 

        • Knowledge of the general principles of preventive physical care for athletes.

        Men and Women’s Golf Assistant Coach

        Davis & Elkins College is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable individual for the position of Men and Women’s Golf Assistant Coach. This is a part-time position that involves assisting the head coach in all aspects of the golf program.
        This position will support the College’s mission of fostering an environment which is focused on the spiritual, intellectual, personal, and social development of the student-athletes. D&E is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and Mountain East Conference (MEC).

        • Assist the head coach in planning and conducting effective practice sessions to develop players’ skills, teamwork, and overall golf knowledge.

        • Support and create fundraising and community engagement efforts to enhance the visibility and support of the golf program within the College and local community.

        Current Employee Benefits

        Davis & Elkins College provides a competitive benefits package to its eligible employees. An open enrollment period is held annually in the late fall to provide employees an opportunity to select benefit plan options for the next year. Open Enrollment is an ideal time to take inventory of all plans, coverage types, and beneficiaries.

        Health Insurance

        Health Insurance is provided by the ASR. The monthly employee premium ranges from $683 to $977 for family coverage, $436 to $640 for employee plus spouse, $410 to $609 for employee plus child(ren), and $140 to $267 for single coverage.  Employees have a choice of three plan options. Employees who participate in the Wellness Program receive a discount on their premium.

        Employees may enroll as a new hire, during open enrollment, or when they experience a life change (marriage, birth, adoption, etc.).

        Health Reimbursement Account

        The Health Plan is a consumer directed health care program that is offered to employees who participate in the health insurance coverage offered by Davis & Elkins College. The college contributes funds each year into Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs) for each participant. Employees, through their HRA, may use these monies to pay for medical expenses. Money that is not spent during the year stays in the account to use for subsequent years.

        Dental Insurance

        Dental Insurance is provided by SIEBA, LTD. The monthly employee cost is $20 for family coverage and $10 for single coverage. 

        Employees may enroll as a new hire, during open enrollment, or when they experience a life change (marriage, birth, adoption, etc.). 

        The total maximum amount that may be paid to or for a covered person under the plan is $1000 for eligible services during each plan year. The plan pays 100% of the first $100 of eligible expenses incurred in the plan year; you then pay a $50 deductible; and then the plan pays 80% of the next $400 of eligible expenses and 50% of up to the plan year maximum benefit of $1000.

        Flexible Spending Account

        A Flex Plan is available through Benefit Planning Consultants. This plan allows the employee to have deductions from their pay for medical, dental and dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis, which allows employees to reduce their tax liability. Enrollment in the Flex Plan occurs annually.

        Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment

        Life and AD&D insurance is provided by The Standard to all full-time employees. The coverage is 2.5 times the employee’s salary with a minimum of $50,000 and a maximum of $250,000. The college pays all premiums for this insurance. Coverage will decrease after employees reach age 65.

        Retirement

        An annuity contract will be opened for each full-time employee with TIAA. The college will pay the equivalent 2.5 percent of the employee’s wages into the retirement contract. This percentage increases to five percent after the sixth year of employment. The employee has the option to contribute a percentage of his/her wages to the contract. Part-time employees may be eligible for this benefit, based on number of hours worked during first year of employment at D&E.

        Long Term Disability

        Disability insurance is provided by The Standard to all full-time employees. The coverage is 60 percent of the employee’s monthly wage base, not to exceed $5,000 per month. The college pays all premiums for this coverage.

        The Campus Conduct Hotline© is a confidential, independent risk-management service that gives students and employees a simple, anonymous way to alert administrators of unsafe or unethical behavior before it spirals out of control. The Campus Conduct Hotline© is available around the clock, seven days a week.

        To use this service:

        Sick Leave Bank

        This benefit provides full-time employees with a short-term disability plan. The College’s long-term disability plan can be accessed after six months of disability, but the College has no short term disability plan in place. The sick leave bank (once accrued sick leave time is exhausted) can help cover immediate loss of income if an employee must be absent from work due to non-work-related illness or injury. All full-time employees are eligible for membership on a voluntary basis.
