Position Duties/Responsibilities

Job Description: Job duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain compliance with NCAA and the Southland Conference and Board of Supervisors regulations and policies.
  • Promote an atmosphere for compliance within the program supervised by the coach and to monitor the activities regarding compliance of all assistant coaches and other administrators involved with the program who report directly or indirectly to the coach.
  • Responsible for Tennis program operations to include: coaching; recruiting; and supervising Assistant Coach, Administrative Assistant, Graduate Assistants, and Student Workers. 
  • Be attentive and responsible with budget set forth each year. 
  • Responsible for purchasing within the Tennis program. 
  • Responsible for tennis supplies and equipment maintenance. 
  • Responsible for preliminary squad list due on June l of every year to the Compliance Office. 
  • Responsible for completing and returning all forms, lists and reports originating from the Compliance Office involving the Tennis program. 
  • Responsible for the academic progress of student athletes in the Tennis program. 
  • Supervise Tennis athlete's progress within the program. 
  • Responsible for fundraising efforts for the program. 
  • Maintain inventory records for equipment and apparel. 
  • Responsible for maintaining annual CPR certification. 
  • Maintain current knowledge of NCAA, Southland Conference and/or Institutional rules, ensuring compliance, and report any knowledge of violation of NCAA, Southland Conference and/or Institutional rules, to the Compliance Office. Understand that actions that violate NCAA rules will result in disciplinary or corrective actions as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures. 
  • Assist the Athletics Director as needed.

Required/Preferred Qualifications

  • BS required 
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA Division I rules, practices, policies, philosophy and procedures
