Description

Position Title: Graduate Assistant for Digital Content

Reports to: Director of Athletic Communication

Primary function: Capture and produce high-quality video content to aid in the promotion of and recruitment for the Saint Vincent College Athletic Department and its 25 varsity programs.

Required Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of capturing high-quality video footage and still photography; Demonstrated knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Premiere, InDesign, Photoshop and After Effects

Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, journalism, graphic design, marketing, digital arts, or related field of study.

Experience/Relevant Skills

  • 2-3 years of experience in capturing and editing video and digital photography
  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience working with various models of professional camcorders (Canon, JVC, Sony, Panasonic) and mirrorless Canon cameras
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Premiere, After Effects, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced working environment
  • Prior experience in social media management, strategy, and/or content creation a plus

Essential duties

  • Produce consistent, high-quality video content for the athletic department and its 25 varsity programs, including (but not limited to) game highlights, season/game previews, interviews of student-athletes, coaches, and other athletic department stakeholders, and features on special athletic department events
  • Capture and maintain vast collection of video footage of athletic contests, practices, and special events.
  • Conduct and produce video interviews of student-athletes, coaches, administrators and other athletic department stakeholders.
  • Maintain a vast collection of digital footage for archival purposes and for the use in future video projects
  • Capture and edit still action photography at selected home athletic events
  • Assist athletic communication staff with all aspects of the production of livestreams of home athletic events

Other duties:

  • Assist athletic communication staff in the set-up and clean-up at home athletic events
  • Work with the College’s Office of Marketing and Communication to assist with coverage of major on-campus events and initiatives

Special challenges and environment:

Frequent nights and weekends; frequent work outdoors, often in adverse weather conditions; must be able to lift at least 25 pounds; must be able to sit and stand for extended periods.
