Position Overview

Position Summary
Assist the Head Coach in all duties related to the management of an NCAA Division II Collegiate Volleyball Program.
 

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Pass the NCAA Rules Test
  • Academic Coordinator and Advisor for ENMU Volleyball
  • Abide by all NCAA, LSC and ENMU rules and regulations.
  • Teach Classes in HPE Department
  • Required to drive a university vehicle (15 passenger van)
  • Assist in running practices and training of players, volleyball camps, recruiting fundraising, community service and public relations projects.
  • Efficiently lead volleyball drills. 
  • Scouting and game film analysis.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
 Minimum Job Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required with a Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years as a high school head coach or 1 year as a college assistant or head coach or college playing experience.
  • A valid USA Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment is also required, as well as the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all kinds of weather and road conditions (CDL endorsement preferred)
 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient speaking, writing, and organizational skills. 
  • Effectively articulate thoughts and ideas to others.
  • Proficient computer, video-equipment, social media and public relation skills.
  • Possess a strong desire to work with young individuals and a commitment to the success of each student-athlete.
  • Must be a hard worker, self-driven person that can work independently. 
  • Ability to drive long distances for away matches.

Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

  • Work is medium in nature that at times requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. 
  • Work is performed inside a non-smoking facility and exposure to blood-borne pathogens is possible. 
  • Requires traveling for games and recruiting purposes. 
  • Participate in volleyball drills and scrimmages.

Insurance for Eastern New Mexico University is offered through the New Mexico Public Schools Insurance Authority. High coverage and low coverage options are offered for medical and dental insurance so employees can choose the plan that’s right for them.

Retirement

Eastern New Mexico University participates with the New Mexico Educational Retirement Board (NMERB), Social Security, and Medicare.

The University also offers supplemental retirement plans. 403b plans are available through TIAA/CREF, AIG VALIC, and MetLife. 475b plans are offered through TIAA/CREF.


Paid Time Off

Full time exempt employees accrue 14.66 hours of annual leave and 14 hours of medical leave per month. Employees must work for the University for three months before they are eligible to use annual leave. Leave accruals will be pro-rated for part time employees. Temporary employees do not accrue leave.



Employee Educational Assistance Plan
Eastern New Mexico University offers a tuition waiver for regular employees and retirees. This program waives the tuition for one course (up to four credit hours) per semester. Employees' spouses may be eligible to use the tuition waiver during any semester that it is not being used by the employee.
