Serve while abiding by and complying with the constitution, by-laws, rules, regulations and interpretations of the NCAA, any conference with which Coastal Carolina is or may become affiliated, and Coastal Carolina rules and regulations relating to the conduct and administration of its athletic programs, including recruiting rules, as now constituted or as any of the same may be amended during the Term herein.    In the event Employee becomes aware, or has reasonable cause to believe, that violations of such constitution, by-laws, interpretations, rules or regulations may have taken place, shall report the same promptly to the direct supervisor or designee. 

Duties

  1. Serves as primary media relations contact for 3-4 sports. (Essential/30%)
  2. Provides assistance to other sports as assigned. (Marginal/5%)
  3. Responsible for all game day functions of assigned sports; to include, but not limited to Media Guides, Game Notes,  Game Program and Website Updates (Essential/30%)
  4. Inputs stats during a contest. (Essential/30%)
  5. Performs other duties as assigned. (Marginal/5%)

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of one (1) year experience in a college or university sports information office. Experience may include time as a student assistant or intern. Inputting stats during a contest is a must and the person will be required to handle all gameday functions for assigned sports.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Good writing and editing ability; knowledge of AP style and desktop publishing and various web software programs; experience using the various statistical programs.

Media Relations Assistant, Temporary
 
Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following position: Media Relations Assistant in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.   
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for all game day functions of assigned sports such as media guides, game notes, game programs, website updates, etc.     
  • Provide assistance to sports teams as assigned.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics and University Recreation and Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations.
 
Requirements:  A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one (1) year experience in a college or university sports information office is required. Experience may include time as a student assistant or intern. Experience with inputting stats during a contest and handling all gameday functions for assigned sports is required. Additionally, a successful candidate should possess the following preferred skills: good writing and editing ability, knowledge of AP style and desktop publishing, preferably InDesign, as well as Photoshop and various web software programs. Experience using the various StatCrew and NCAA Live Genius statistical programs is also preferred.

Full-time temporary position (TP0034/TEMP202400018) . Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
