Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Football Coach is responsible for fulfilling all duties associated with successful coaching at the college level including developing, planning, administering, and evaluating the success of the football program. 
 
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to be a positive role model and representative of the university.

• Monitor academic performance and eligibility through electronic and online means 
• Supervise assistant coaches

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Football Coach is responsible for fulfilling all duties associated with successful coaching at the college level including developing, planning, administering, and evaluating the success of the football program. 
 
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to be a positive role model and representative of the university.  

Responsibilities include:

• Recruit talented and academically qualified student-athletes
• Monitor academic performance and eligibility through electronic and online means 
• Supervise assistant coaches
• Plan, organize, and conduct all practice sessions, conditioning, and other sport-related workouts, both in-season and off-season 
• Schedule and supervises all team practices and schedules
• Attend and direct team competition
• Coordinate team travel, meals, and hotel accommodations in collaboration with Athletics Business Office
• Manage operating budget, including travel expenses and equipment purchases, to fit within allotted budgetary constraints 
• Determine individual and team strengths in developing strategies for skill improvement and competition
• Ensure program compliance with all NCAA, PSAC, and University rules and regulations, including timely completion of all compliance documentation 
• Fundraise activities to support and enhance the program and the Athletic Department
• Organize and direct summer camp(s) 
• Engage alumni, media, and community members
• Act as an ambassador at campus and community events
• Maintain membership in coaching organizations and attend professional development opportunities
• Other related duties 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to be a positive role model and representative of the university. This position requires the ability to travel extensively on both weekdays and weekends during the competitive seasons.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Five (5) years of football coaching experience at the high school, college, and/or professional level
• Knowledge of and conformity to NCAA rules
• The ability to travel extensively during the competitive seasons

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• The ability to instruct, coach, and motivate student-athletes
• Staff supervisory experience
• Knowledge of current issues and best practices in higher education and intercollegiate athletics
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Special Instructions

This is a full-time, salaried, 12-month position with full benefits. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience with additional income possible by conducting mandatory summer camps and clinics.
