JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking an Ability Athletics Director and Coach. The Ability Athletics Director and Coach position will help give, leadership, organization, competition, and practice opportunities to Penn State students with disabilities in sport and recreational activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to track and field Paralympic sport activities at the highest levels including Paralympic World, Para Pan American, and Paralympic competitions. Other competition opportunities may be provided based on the level of student interests and engagement including swimming, wheelchair basketball, and sled hockey. The Ability Athlete Director and Coach will assist in outreach programs to the community in the area and will be responsible for working with other university units to enhance exposure, promotion, and opportunities for ability athletes.
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher plus two years of related experience. Interested candidates must have 3-5 years of experience working in adaptive sports and must have CPR and First Aid certification.
This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required.
