Department Information
The Georgia Tech Athletic Associate (GTAA) sponsors varsity intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Steeped in history and success while embracing strategic innovation, our programs compete at the highest level and strive for national championships. Tech fans are passionate about their support of their beloved Yellow Jackets and cherish the many traditions involved with the program.
Provide information and counsel to undergraduate and graduate students within an assigned area regarding their academic pursuits and progress. Prepare and maintain associated student records. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: current and potential students, parents, faculty, staff, and general public. This position typically will advise and counsel: students. This position will supervise: NA.
Job Duty 1 -
Meet with students concerning questions and issues regarding various aspects of their academic program. May include questions regarding academic program requirements, registration, permits, overloads, degree petitions, change of major, commencement, curriculum, academic progress, and Institute policy
Job Duty 2 -
Perform reference searches and records access in conjunction with student inquiries.
Job Duty 3 -
Respond to faculty request for assistance in administrative or student related matters.
Job Duty 4 -
Prepare assessment reports; maintain student related records, files and databases;
Job Duty 5 -
Review and process curriculum related actions.
Job Duty 6 -
May interact with other academic units in conjunction with joint programs
Job Duty 7 -
May schedule and coordinate student events.
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
CPR, Fcademicst aid, academic AED certification.
Required Experience
Three to four years of job related experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Preferred knowledge and skills include ability to effectively interact with individuals from diverse cultures and use of specialized computer applications
Preferred Experience
One year of experience providing student-athlete academic support
SKILLS
This job requires knowledge of university level academic program requirements and related administrative processes within assigned area. Also required are verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills and basic computer skills
