Liberty University’s hiring practices and EEO Statement are fully in compliance with both federal and state law. Federal law creates an exception to the “religion” component of the employment discrimination laws for religious organizations (including educational institutions), and permits them to give employment preference to members of their own religion. Liberty University is in that category.
AAA has high expectations for the tutors that are hired. It is their responsibility to maintain a GPA above a 3.0 while working with the student-athletes. Tutors must display a strong academic commitment, be highly motivated, and willing to be open-minded and compassionate towards student athletes. It is also the duty of any staff member within the department to present materials in a good ethical manner. As a tutor, it is important to encourage academic success consistently throughout each semester.
Tutors are also responsible for monitoring student-athletes while signed into Academic Enhancement. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, checking student-athletes into the facility via Teamworks, ensuring that student-athletes are following the established rules of Academic Enhancement, and confirming that student-athletes are working on academics throughout their study session (this includes those that are working independently). Our goal is that the LAC is a productive atmosphere to allow for maximal engagement with our tutorial staff and be an efficient learning space.
Must be a Liberty University student.
Must work independently and as a group.
