Working independently, exercising good judgment and discretion in executing and developing the Academic Success Programs within Club Sports. Analyzing data regarding each student’s class schedule and grades to help students approach each semester according to their abilities. Mentoring and developing new freshmen and at-risk students. Working with the Library, CASAS and Bruckner Learning Center to help students connect with specific resources. Responsible for planning, scheduling, and organization of practices and competitions for the competitive dance team. They are able to understand and adhere to the Club Sports policies and procedures while attending department meetings and training sessions as needed. The head coach is also responsible for overseeing and leading any assistant coaches.
Mentor student-athletes
Academic enhancement of Club Sports student-athletes.
Work as part of Club sports team and individual.
Four-year college degree, with a concentration in Social Work, Pastoral Counseling, or Counseling degree, 1 + years in an office environment functioning. Strong experience in academic development with knowledge of a variety of sports teams functional requirements. Ability to create and teach original choreography without need for outsourcing. The ability to work independently and collaboratively as a goal-oriented strategic thinker. Passion and motivation to recruit student-athletes. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
Well-developed communication skills both verbal and written.
Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly lift 20 or fewer pounds. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
