The Opportunity :
The Senior Academic Success Coach will provide academic advising to student-athletes on assigned teams to include scheduling of classes, major selection, and required exams for enrollment/graduation to ensure students are making satisfactory progress towards their degree. They will monitor academic progress for continuing eligibility and graduation, coordinate travel letters distribution, produce academic grade reports, monitor study hall hours, and oversee mentoring of at-risk student-athletes. The Senior Academic Success Coach will assist in the recruitment process, keep current with changes in NCAA and university policies, and will maintain daily communication with students and coaches on assigned teams in regard to academic development. The Senior Academic Success Coach will be responsible for the oversight of the various events and their respective programming. They will establish professional relationships with campus personnel to effectively provide first-class events and will communicate with all other Academic Services for Student-Athlete (ASSA) staff and UCF Athletics Association (UCFAA) and university staff as needed.
Responsibilities:
Supervise graduate assistants to work with assigned teams.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, PeopleSoft, Workday and Teamworks including database and spreadsheet computer applications.
Understanding rules compliance as a critical element of the position and adhere to NCAA, Conference, UCF and UCFAA rules, regulations and policies.
Attend appropriate rules compliance programs offered by the NCAA, Conference, UCF, and UCFAA Athletics Compliance Office.
Attend all ASSA staff meetings, SSWB and UCFAA meetings as requested or assigned by Director of ASSA and collaborate with other offices on campus as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience or a Master’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working with student-athletes at the Division I level.
Experience working with at-risk student-athletes in an academic support environment including mentoring and advising.
Familiarity with coordinating a study hall or a computer lab is preferred.
Experience working with international student-athletes.
Familiarity with NCAA progress rules.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work with various cultures and with a dynamic staff in a fast-paced environment.
