Job Description

The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Administrative Services Coordinator for Student-Athlete Academic Services. This is a part-time (50% and FLSA non-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. The Department of Athletics manages 22 varsity sports programs and related events with a workforce of approximately 205 regular employees and 300 temporary employees. Responsibilities: The Administrative Services Coordinator for SAAS is responsible for providing administrative assistance for the Gerdin Athletic Learning Center and assists the Director and Office staff with the management of the daily operational needs of the unit. This position may require work in the evenings, on weekends and holidays.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree (or international equivalent) or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Experience (typically 6 months to 1 year) providing office management and basic administrative support to professional staff, including reviewing calendars and preparing correspondence while independently prioritizing and managing other processes and functions;
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
  • Working knowledge of and ability to:

    • Utilize basic office support software (Microsoft Office, word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets)
    • Operate effectively within a highly regulated team environment.
