| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.

| Position Summary |
The University of North Carolina Baseball Office is responsible for conducting all matters relating to the Baseball Program, a highly recognized sport program within the Department of Athletics. This office conducts business locally, on the conference level, and on the national level. It is one of the most visible public relations avenues for the University and all duties and responsibilities represent UNC-Chapel Hill as a premier institution on all levels. The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct administrative assistance and support to the Head Coach, and the Director of Baseball Operations. This position has an extremely important public relations role for the Baseball program and the Department of Athletics while providing administrative assistance, support, and office management functions for Baseball.
The position is charged with responsibility for access controls including use of the Boshamer Stadium facility, which includes the concourse, concession areas, restrooms, and the UNC Baseball Hall of Honor. The stadium’s upper deck includes suites for lease, coach’s office suite, and hospitality area. Security is high priority.
The position is also charged with scheduling responsibilities including the stadium’s upper deck suites available for lease, coach’s office suite, and hospitality area. This includes campus offices/programs requesting use of this facility, which includes the concourse, back patio, suites and conference rooms. The ‘First Base Patio’ is often used for activities and gatherings hosted by the Athletic Directors office.
The position is responsible for event planning which includes university groups such as Chancellor’s office, Morehead Foundation, Ram’s Club, Coaches Circle, and external groups requesting use. This position is involved in the planning, preparation, and registration for such events.
Position serves as administrative support to the Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, and Director of Baseball Operations.
Game Day responsibilities for the position include managing ticket or parking issues in absence of Assistant Coach or Director of Baseball Operations. Also responsible for visitors to Baseball Office Conference Room.
Position is responsible for overseeing the budget on daily basis: manage monthly printout reconciliations and all deposits; assigned responsibility to initiate check requests and pay invoices. Position has full control and purchasing authority over Baseball program P-Card and is responsible for all reconciliation of purchasing card and coordinates with the business office on all purchases.
Recruiting: Assist in preparation for all official and unofficial recruiting visits. This is a weekly process, and the program has recruits almost every week throughout the recruiting period. Prepares all required paperwork for visits as requested by the Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
General knowledge of university business policies and procedures. Must demonstrate administrative experience and the ability to provide support for Head Coach and Assistant Coaches. Must demonstrate organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; customer service skills; the ability to multi-task; experience that demonstrates the ability to organize office functions and maintain an efficient and effective office environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills with energetic approach to teamwork. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work to meet program and game day needs. Proficiencies in computer technology. Ability to coordinate and manage events, maintain program database and demonstrate the ability to work independently. Display initiative for facilitating and meeting Coaches and Baseball program needs. Ability to work special events that include evenings and weekends, as necessary.

| Campus Security Authority Responsibilities |
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
