The mission of the NC State University Department of Athletics is to prepare student-athletes to compete at the highest level and to inspire them to be leaders now and for the future by providing the best environment to achieve their athletic, academic, and personal aspirations as well as providing support for the professional development of our coaches and staff, all within the role of the greater institutional relationships to the University. The Sports Medicine Office is responsible for the health and welfare of over 600 student-athletes. Assist in preventative and rehabilitative care for all student-athletes.
Serve as the insurance coordinator for Chester Grant Sports Medicine Center in Reynolds Coliseum. Assists student-athletes, staff, physicians, nutritionists, mental health providers, administrators and coaches – when appropriate. Set up onsite and offsite physician and specialist appointments for student-athletes. Responsible for calendar management, purchase orders, travel, purchase card reconciliation and invoices for the Sports Medicine and Mental Health & Performance staff. Assist with medical record management for over 600 student-athletes. Transcribe Doctor’s dictated notes. Assists with insurance verification for the student- athlete population. Responsible for securing follow-up notes on all off-site and on-campus medical visits and entering them into a database to track. These duties require applicants to be familiar with common sports injuries and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Prior experience in a medical office setting.Proficient in Word, Access and Excel.Ability to work in fast-paced environment and maintain positive interpersonal interactions.
Experience working within athletics, medical office or university health center. Medical Terminology.
