Position Overview
| Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
The NCCU Department of Athletics’ primary purpose is to provide leadership for an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics program. The NCCU Department of Athletics places the highest priority on a quality academic and athletic experience as part of the overall education of student-athletes. The Department of Athletics seeks to strengthen the integration of the athletics program objectives with academic development objectives.

| Primary Purpose of Position |
This position works with the departmen of Athletics at North Carolina Central University. It requires knowledge of the office or work unit policies and procedures in order to communicate information involving programs, functions, and services. Duties performed may include preparation of documents and reports, travel requests and reimbursements; the use of office technology, Banner, compiling records, organizing and maintaining files, posting information, greet/referring/assisting visitors/clients/staff/others, mail distribution, and photocopying. The completion of work often involves a public contact role to obtain, clarify, or provide information regarding activities of the work unit or program.

| Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Problem solving abilities. General organizational and office management experiences. Knowledgeable of computer software used in general office environment (Microsoft Office products).

| Minimum Education/Experience |
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

| Duties |
Greeting and assisting visitors, clients, students, staff. Responds to questions/issues received by all constituents on behalf of the department of athletics. Schedules and coordinates appointments and meetings for the Director of Athletics. Compose and edit correspondence and reports using various office technology.

| Duties |
Organize and maintain files, assist with mail distribution and photocopying. Maintains personnel records, vacation/sick leave reports, non-exempt time sheets, work study time reports and submits necessary paperwork to the Director of Athletics and Human Resources Coordinator as required.

| Duties |
Maintains records of budget transactions, invoices, purchase orders, etc. Monitors and reconciles travel requests by the Director of Athletics. Handle all expenses (travel, procurement card clearing/reimbursements/check requests) for executive senior staff.
