| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.

| Position Summary |
This position serves as the first point of contact for the Ernie Williams Athletic Center. Position responsible for greeting visitors, guests, student athletics, staff and coaches. Responsible to help people feel welcome, answer questions, direct them to the Basketball Museum and other parts of the building.

| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
|
| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Must be highly organized, friendly and engaging, and demonstrate the ability to multitask very well.
Demonstrated skills to prioritize projects, as needed.
Demonstrated proficiencies with Windows-based applications such as Microsoft Office, and ability to utilize the internet in order to locate information regarding the University, as appropriate.
Demonstrate a highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction and demonstrated passion for excellence with respect to treating and providing guests and visitors with clear and concise information, both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrate a pleasant, patient and helpful attitude and provide the highest quality courteous and positive interaction with all who come to the Center.
Must be punctual and reliable.

| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Experience serving as first point of contact working in a high volume, dynamic work environment.
Ability to work weekends occasionally, and evening work occasionally.

| Special Physical/Mental Requirements |
May be requried to lift/move 25 lbs or greater. May be required to navigate stairs. Must be able to manage a fast-paced, high volume environment. Must be able to owrk some weekends and evenings. Attention to detail. Computer skills helpful.
