Job Description Summary

The Assistant Director of Football Video works alongside the Director of Football Video and the Video Assistant to coordinate all technology operations of Liberty Football and provide the coaching staff and players with all the necessary video for success. Oversee and manage all video students and employees. Serve as direct contact for IT needs throughout the facility. Efficiency and effectiveness is very important. It is vital for this position to be a problem solver and effective troubleshooter when it comes to technology. Being a direction follower and quick learner is key. Continuous improvement and growth are expected from this position. Required Bachelor’s degree or higher. Must abide by all NCAA rules and regulations and be responsible for promoting an atmosphere of compliance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Provides creative video production projects to coaching staff and student athletes to include graphics, in-game and skill review videos.

2. Coordinate the recording of all practices and games from multiple camera angles and appoint the video students for inputting film in the appropriate manner. 

3. Organize and Import all practice and game footage to Catapult Thunder Football for the coaching staff and student-athletes to review while establishing and organizing film.

4. Provides NFL game video along with use of Pro Football Focus software.  Create weekly content for coach review.    

5. Supervise and manage all the student video assistants; responsible for recruiting, hiring, and assigning daily responsibilities within video operations. 

6. Direct and train video staff on the operation and maintenance of the remote video camera system as well as the Sony and GoPro cameras throughout the building.

7. Guide the coaching staff, support staff, and student workers through the operation of various computer programs including, but not limited to: Microsoft Visio, Adobe Creative Suite, Catapult Thunder Football, Catapult Thundercloud, and Hudl.

8. Function as organizational liaison for Liberty University IT department for the Liberty Football Center and the Football program needs.

9. Serve as the direct contact for student-athlete engagement with film, thundercloud, and XO’s platforms daily.

10. Coordinate and set up all meeting rooms at team hotel for both home and away contests, while ensuring all technology and video needs meet the standard for team travel and success.

Supervisory Responsibilities

1. Oversee Direct and Manage the entire student video assistants (about 25 students); while being held responsible for establishing a plan for recruiting and soliciting new video workers.

2. Supervise and inspect all community service hours have been met by the students.

3. Enforce and execute daily IT needs for the entire coaching staff and support staff in the Liberty Football Center.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

1. Bachelor's degree required.

2. Master's degree preferred.

3. Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations.
