Summary
The Assistant Athletics Director, Capital Projects and Facilities will work directly with the Deputy Athletics Director to oversee the Army West Point Athletic Association Inc. (“AWPAA”) capital projects and facilities initiatives, most notably the $100M+ Michie Stadium Preservation Project. This position is charged with working independently as well as collaboratively on all phases of capital projects and facilities maintenance and improvements. This individual will represent AWPAA in various facilities and construction-related meetings, communicating and working directly with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that organization’s projects are integrated and coordinated appropriately across the United States Military Academy (“USMA”) campus. This individual will be responsible for providing regular updates on ongoing projects to the AWPAA Senior Leadership Team. Additionally, this individual will work as an event manager at select sporting events in support of the Internal Operations team.

Acting as an extension of the Deputy Athletics Director, this position has a high scope of impact. The employee must coordinate with mid- and senior-level leaders and coaches within the athletic department as well as leaders and staff from across USMA. This includes participating in a myriad of department-wide meetings, programs, and initiatives as well as representing the athletic department at external meetings on campus.

35% Michie Stadium Preservation Project
In conjunction with the Deputy Athletics Director:
** 20 % Capital Projects Management**
Actively manage the athletic department’s ongoing and future capital projects throughout all phases:
Work closely with Army Athletic Association (AAA) facilities staff throughout all phases of capital projects to coordinate all vendor work, ensure the availability of facilities and that all government/installation standards of work and requirements are met.
Prepare materials and respond to requests for information on facility needs in support of fundraising efforts for specific facility upgrade projects.
Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders to keep them appraised of ongoing work and to ensure their needs are met.
Attend installation-level construction meetings to ensure the integration of all ongoing and planned athletic department capital projects within the overall USMA construction plan.
20 % Event Management
In support of the Internal Operations department:
** 15% Facilities Maintenance and Upgrades**
In conjunction with the Deputy Athletics Director and AAA Facilities Staff:

Travel
The incumbent will be expected to regularly visit athletic facilities on campus as well as check ongoing facilities projects in person. This position may require minimal travel to athletic facilities off campus to conduct benchmarking.

Pay Range
$75,000 to $80,000
This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries that AWPAA believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted position. AWPAA expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would AWPAA consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
