The part-time Assistant, Aquatics supports the Athletics Director with planning, organizing, and instructing swimming lessons, and any other class held at the pool facility located on the Key West Campus. This position reports to the Athletics Director and typically maintains a 10-25 hour work week (not to exceed 25 hours per week) and schedules may vary according to need.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:
Education and Qualifications: - One year of experience in teaching swimming of different ages and abilities is required. - One year of experience working as a lifeguard is required.
(A comparable amount of training, education, or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations: - Current certifications from the American Red Cross or the equivalent of the following are required: - Lifeguard Training with CPR for the professional rescuer and First Aid - Water Safety Instructor
Physical Skills: - Moderate (15-44lbs) lifting. - Pulling, pushing, reaching. - Walking, standing, kneeling, bending, climbing, swimming, and balancing.
Environmental Conditions: - Works in an outside environment around a swimming pool.
