Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
Program Administration & Operations
Assist the Athletic Director in the daily management of all athletic programs and departmental operations
Oversee scheduling, travel coordination, and game-day operations for assigned sports
Support budget management, purchasing, and resource allocation
Ensure facilities are properly maintained and prepared for practices and competitions
Compliance & Governance
Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations (conference, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and University policies)
Assist in maintaining accurate records related to eligibility, recruiting, and financial aid
Support internal audits and compliance education for coaches and staff
Student-Athlete Development
Promote academic success, retention, and graduation of student-athletes
Coordinate with academic affairs to monitor student-athlete progress
Support initiatives related to leadership development, wellness, and life skills
Coaching & Staff Support
Provide oversight and guidance to assigned coaches and athletic staff
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management of coaches
Foster a culture aligned with Wiley University’s mission and values
External Relations & Engagement
Support fundraising, alumni engagement, and community outreach initiatives
Collaborate with marketing and communications to enhance brand visibility
Assist with game promotions, fan engagement, and special events
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (Sports Management, Business, or related field)
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in collegiate athletics administration or related field
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of NAIA rules and collegiate athletics operations
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated commitment to student-athlete development and success
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and athletics management systems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience at an HBCU or similar mission-driven institution
Background in compliance, operations, or student-athlete services
Experience with budgeting and program development
Work Environment & Expectations
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
Visible presence at athletic events and campus activities
