The University of Portland is a National Collegiate Athletics Association (
NCAA
) Division I institution and West Coast Conference (
WCC
) member located in Portland, Oregon. This position serves as a member of the public relations team overseeing day to day operations of the video unit in the Department of Athletics, Portland Sports Network. Responsible for creating a strategic vision for the department in an ever-growing technology landscape. This position supervises staff and student employees of the video team.

Produce quality broadcast operations of all home competitions and create compelling content for TV partners, social media and PortlandPilots.com. Current productions include University of Portland produced games, Portside with the Pilots, and radio show.
Communicate and facilitate broadcast partnership elements with the West Coast Conference digital video partner Stadium along with other broadcast partners that include, but are not limited to,

KRCW
-TV,
ESPN

ROOT
Sports Northwest.
Traffic inventory management for all broadcast partnerships in television, video and radio.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the Department of Athletics video team and Portland Sports Network.
Oversee maintenance of control room and video infrastructure for athletic facilities; managing upgrades as necessary.
Recruit and supervise staff (including, but not limited to, part-time game day video workforce and student employees) in the athletic video department. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring processes, setting of expectations, training and professional development, performance management and evaluations, and disciplinary processes including termination of employment.
Serve as Athletics liaison with the University Information Services Department.
Consult with Athletics teams on best practices for using video analysis systems.
Management of video asset library.
Ability to attend and transport equipment and employees to offsite Athletic events as needed.
Other duties as relevant to the duties of the position or as assigned by supervisor or designee.

Required: Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or related field.
Required: Five years of experience in creative video and/or live television production.
Preferred: Prior experience in sports or athletics related marketing within an institution of higher education.
Or a combination of equivalent education and/or experience.
Valid driver’s license.
Strong knowledge and proven professional experience with creative video and live television production.
Thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness in completing essential duties.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with office software, email, social media, and video production related applications; ability to quickly learn and use new technologies and applications in depth at level of proficiency appropriate for the position’s duties.
Ability to learn and support the mission of the University of Portland and the University’s Athletics Department.
Proven ability to achieve an organization’s vision, values and programs through marketing and communication initiatives.
Strong computer skills and proficiency with office software, email, marketing and social media, and data analysis related applications; ability to quickly learn and use new technologies and applications in depth at level of proficiency appropriate for the position’s duties.
