We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Athletics Department as an Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our athletic programs operate in full compliance with all relevant rules, regulations, and policies set forth by the
NCAA
or other governing bodies. This position requires a deep understanding of athletic compliance, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity within our athletic programs.
Responsibilities:
•Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive compliance programs and policies for our athletics department.
•Monitor and enforce
NCAA
, conference, and institutional rules and regulations to maintain compliance in all aspects of our athletic programs.
•Provide guidance and support to coaches, student-athletes, and staff on compliance matters.
•Oversee the recruiting process to ensure that it adheres to all
NCAA
rules and regulations.
•Conduct educational sessions and workshops for coaches, recruits, and their families regarding recruiting rules and compliance requirements.
•Maintain accurate records of all recruiting activities and official visits.
•Collaborate with academic advisors to monitor the academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes.
•Ensure that all student-athletes meet eligibility requirements to participate in athletics.
•Assist in the submission of
NCAA
eligibility waivers or appeals when necessary.
•Develop and conduct compliance education programs for coaches, student-athletes, and staff members.
•Stay up-to-date with changes in
NCAA
rules and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
•Provide interpretations and guidance on complex compliance issues.
•Conduct regular audits and reviews to monitor compliance with
NCAA
rules.
•Prepare and submit required reports to
NCAA
and conference offices.
•Investigate and report any potential violations.
•Maintain accurate records related to compliance activities, including recruiting, eligibility, and rules education.
•Use and maintain the
ARMS
software in monitoring compliance with
NCAA
rules.
•Work closely with other individuals/departments including, but not limited to the registrar, financial aid, faculty athletics representative, business office, legal counsel, academic advising, and athletic administration to ensure alignment on compliance matters.
•Participate in compliance-related committees and meetings.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree required.
•A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics as a student athlete, coach and/or administrator.
•Strong understanding of
NCAA
rules and regulations.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Detail-oriented and highly organized.
•Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
•Strong ethical and moral character with a commitment to integrity.
