The Athletics Department is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director: Compliance. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.). Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance, the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance assists in ensuring compliance with all University, PAC-12 Conference and interpretive authority for NCAA rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics. Assists the Associate Athletic Director in day-to-day management of the office including assisting in investigations related to rules violations, completing required reporting and making recommendations to senior management around ensuring institutional control.

80% LEAD COMPLIANCE OFFICER FOR ASSIGNED BYLAWS Oversee administration of assigned NCAA bylaw areas including provision of education, monitoring, waivers, onboarding of new staff and enforcement. Serve as Lead Compliance Officer for Softball and secondary Lead Compliance Officer for the compliance department in the absence of the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. Assist in office transition to by-sport model – ultimately overseeing compliance operation for Men’s Basketball and 3-4 other sports. Serve as the liaison between the Athletic department staff and assigned campus units including administering standing meetings, improving policy/procedure, rules education and ensuring ongoing institutional control. Draft wavier requests, screen and approve exceptions when applied. Serve as interpretive authority for assigned NCAA eligibility bylaws. 15% Supervision & Leadership Provide lead work and guidance (plan, assign, and approve work) for department interns. Lead or participate in the recruitment, training, and management of department interns. Attend senior staff meetings. 5% Other Duties as AssignedOther duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in related field. Three years of work experience within a NCAA Division I compliance or related unit. Familiarity with interpreting and applying NCAA Division I rules and regulations. Excellent communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
Master’s degree in related field. Three or more years of related experience with NCAA Compliance at an NCAA Division I institution. Experience with NCAA Compliance Assistant (CA), NCAA LSDBi, JumpForward, Teamworks, ARMS and/or BlueChip.
Works some evenings and weekends. Access to student records and sensitive information. Access to secure areas.
