The Assistant Athletic Director for Development will work with the Assistant Vice President and Senior Associate Athletic Director to develop and implement key fundraising strategies for Athletics and assist with guiding key fundraising programs. Measurements of Success for Major Gift Officers (DOs):
• Acquire and maintain a portfolio of current and prospective constituents to support the advancement of Miami Athletics.
• Execute 20+ face-to-face appointments monthly with a minimum of 200 yearly appointments. 5 visits each month should be a solicitation.
• Support Collective through referrals and community engagement.
• Demonstrate significant and continuous progress toward campaign or multi-year project goals. Dollar goals established with supervisor.
• Reach school/departmental yearly cash fundraising goals. Dollar goals established with supervisor.
• Individual monthly/yearly “amounts solicited” and “amounts received” appropriate to established goals will be measured.
• Manage an appropriate number of active prospects. Number established with supervisor.
Responsibilities:
• Identify, cultivate and solicit financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations and professional groups in support of athletic priorities.
• Work closely with the Collective on fundraising events and engagement opportunities
• Work closely with the Collective on potential donor prospects and strategy
• Stay up to date and informed on NIL best practices and state laws
• Assist in the design and implementation of Athletic Development marketing and communications via web and print
• Research and solicitation of planned and deferred gifts.
• Ensure that past donors are regularly communicated with and re-solicited on a timely basis.
• Responsible for ensuring proper recording of prospect strategies, actions, stages, and proposals in I-BIS
• Coordinates research of prospective donors and directs the development of fundraising plan for capital campaigns.
• Assists in the writing of solicitation proposals and acknowledgement letters: create and edit campaign materials.
• Responsible for maintaining compliance with all NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, University of Miami and departmental policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development or designee

• Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, oral and written communication skills.
Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):
• Bachelor’s degree required.
Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):
• Five years of experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
