Job Summary

Assists in overseeing all aspects of event planning for intercollegiate competitions, as well as oversees athletic facilities & game operations.

• Oversees credentialing for all events and functions for the department.
• Serves as the University's credit card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University's credit card policies and procedures.
• Responsible for game day budget for all sport
• Manages inventory for the departments beverage contract. Responsible for providing beverages for all necessary department events as requested.
• Coordinates, plans and promotes special events designed to encourage public attendance and the utilization of the athletics facilities.
• Assists with the set-up of equipment at events.
• Serves as risk management coordinator for all department events.
• Performs essential duties during any emergencies, such as hurricanes, storms and/or any other University emergency closing. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during University emergency closings with appropriate notification by department administrator.
• Coordinates all facility, game management, and game-day staff and operations issues with FIU Athletic home games and practices.

• Coordinates all facility, game management, and game-day staff and operations issues with FIU Athletic home games and practices.
• Serves as point of contact for facilitating outsourced services during events (i.e. box office, parking, security, police, EMS, concession etc); and as a facility and game management administrator at athletic events.
• Resolves complaints or problems that arise during events and activities sponsored by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
• Provides overall direction and supervision in the management and operation of Athletic facilities. Conducts daily inspections and directs the day-to-day operations of facility activities.
• Assists in the development of policies and procedures as it relates to FIU Athletics practice field, Athletic venues, external events, Athletic contests.
• Approves all expenditures of the assigned area' budget and operation. Manages and guides periodic financial forecast and prepares operational cost and technical reports.
• Liaison to University facilities and operations for minor and major construction projects.
• Oversees grounds and fields as they relate to facility operations.
• Organizes and maintains schedule of practices, competitions and events in athletic facilities.
• Oversees the physical set-up of equipment at home or external events.
• Plans, organizes, and directs all activities and personnel engaged in maintaining and operating athletic facilities.
• Works with area managers/directors to develop standard operating procedures for all operational functions of athletic facilities, e.g./ marketing, finance, ticket office, parking, maintenance, game day operations, administration, food and beverage, sports medicine, campus safety administration, risk management, crowd control, and other related areas.
• Monitors athletic gameday equipment and supplies, as well as storage areas, for functionality, safety, security, and cleanliness.
• Prepares and follows up on work orders to ensure the routing maintenance and cleaning operations of the stadium and all athletics facilities. Maintains records of such work orders
• Plans and schedules all maintenance, repair work, and upgrades for assigned facilities.
• Ensures potential users a fair and equitable plan of access, while meeting academic program needs.
• Schedule Game Day auxiliary event staff
• Assists with ensuring appropriate working operations of athletic facilities and department equipment in accordance with risk management concerns.
• Adheres to all State of Florida, University, NCAA, conference, and department rules and policies pertaining to the position of Assistant AD Athletic Facilities & Game Operations. Report any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and be responsible for the monitoring of any subordinate as it relates to NCAA regulations.
• Serve as the Athletics Emergency Management Lead

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four (4) years of experience or Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience.
