Job Description

Transylvania University invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Media. Transylvania, founded in 1780, is the nation’s 16th oldest institution of higher learning and is consistently ranked in national publications as one of the top liberal arts colleges in the country. Transylvania is located blocks from downtown Lexington, KY, in central Kentucky. Transylvania is a proud member of NCAA Division III.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; providing media relations support; writing, editing, programs, publications, feature stories, and press releases; organizing video efforts including streaming, highlights, etc.; recording and distributing statistics; maintaining the athletic website; submitting conference and NCAA nominations and all requested information; inputting NCAA sport rosters, schedules, and results; providing oversight of Assistant Director, hired personnel to work games as well as student workers; and other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. This is a full-time twelve-month appointment with benefits and a salary commensurate with experience.

Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in a related field (master's degree preferred). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of sports information experience or related field with a working knowledge of Presto, Stat Crew software and Sidearm. Candidates must communicate effectively with internal and external constituents; possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills and a willingness to work as a team in a collaborative environment.
