Position Summary Information
Founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1948, Stonehill is a private Catholic college located just 22 miles from downtown Boston on a beautiful 384-acre campus in Easton, Massachusetts. Under the direct supervision of the Deputy Director of Athletics, the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance oversees and coordinates a comprehensive compliance program that meets NCAA Division I, Northeast Conference and Stonehill College legislation, policies, and procedures. Manages and oversees all functions including, but not limited to, eligibility, rules interpretations, recruiting activities and education. In addition, will serve as Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
A. EligibilityMaintain official team rosters and assist with clearing student-athletes for practice and competition. Assist with initial eligibility/admissions evaluations. Assist with preparation of eligibility waivers (e.g., medical hardships). B. Playing and Practice Seasons and PersonnelMonitor playing and practice season declarations, countable athletically related activities, outside competitions and summer league participation.Approve sport personnel/coaching staff limitations.C. NCAA and Conference Interpretations and Rules EducationProvide interpretations on NCAA and Conference rules to coaches and staff. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NCAA, Conference, and Stonehill College policies, bylaws, interpretations, and case precedent. Create rules education materials and conduct rules education sessions for coaches, staff, student-athletes, and boosters.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Working knowledge of NCAA Division I and NEC policies, rules and regulations Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail Highly developed problem-solving skills. Ability to foster and maintain working relationships with coaches, staff and members of the Stonehill College community. Strong analytical and problem solving skills
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
