The Assistant Director of Athletics job responsibilities include but are not limited to; day to day management of the department’s compliance program, eligibility, academic services, Champion for Life Skills program (community involvement, athletes supporting athletes, campus engagement) organizing special events, and providing assistance with game day
This is a 12-month - In Person position.
Remain current/monitor compliance rules and regulations of the NCAA, the SSC and the University. Department liaison with the SSC for rule interpretations and eligibility and assists with related investigations as required.
Educate student-athletes, coaches, staff, friends, and supporters of the University on SSC and NCAA rules and regulations. Conduct seminars for the purpose of providing rules and interpretations. Serves as a liaison to Financial Aid, CBO, and housing. Assist students with account balances.
Investigate transfer and possible transfer student-athletes through contacts with other institutions and oversee the requesting and granting of releases with other institutions. Manage an oversee all aspects of roster management via Compliance Assistant and internal compliance platform. Develop signee list which includes FA data. Oversee all updates within CA including Detail, Degree Progress, and General information for all students (new and returning). Assist FAR with certifying continuing and new eligibility.
Update the BU Intercollegiate Athletic Compliance Manual, Student-Athlete Handbook & Camps and Clinics Manual.
Coordinate Athletic Scholarships/NLI distribution and tracking, and NIL.
Assist with academic support services: study hall, student mentor program, updating Canvas course/Canvas grade reports, class absent letters. Assist students with the scheduling of tutoring, academic resources, advising, career development, etc. Assist with daily check ins with students. Meet with academically at-risk students.
Establish and assist in planning special events such as the Bucky’s
Assist with ARMS (mental health), game day management responsibilities and potentially sport supervision.

Bachelors degree in any field of study is required
Masters degree in any field of study is preferred
3-5 years work related experience is required
General knowledge of MS Office Suite
Working knowledge ofconcepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.
Adept at written and oral communication.
