Minimum Qualifications:  

 

Education:   Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

 

Experience:   Applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows and MS Office, and the ability to quickly learn and work with new computer software systems. Applicants Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service .  Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.   3–5-years of experience in a related field is preferred.

 

Essential Job Functions:  The Assistant AD for Facilities/Events position is responsible for the leadership, supervision, and oversight of all CSU athletic facilities, as well as gameday operations. The position is critical in the maintenance, cleanliness, organization, and safety of facilities and athletic equipment, and oversight of all CSU athletic events. This position supervises the Assistant for Athletic Facilities/ Events and student employees. 

 

Other duties may include but not limited to the following:

 

Project manager for athletic facility upgrades and projects.

Responsible for the repair and maintenance of athletic equipment, fields, courts, and facilities.

Maintaining records of maintenance costs and budgeting annually.

Schedule and supervise contracted workers and facility repairs.

Use independent discretion to repair and maintain all assets of the Athletic Department

Facilitate bids for all event rentals, equipment, capital, and non-capital projects.

Determine if a facility is safe for use in practices and competition. 

Schedule locker room facilities for use.

Maintain master calendar of facility use for both practice and competition.

Oversee all external facility rental contracts with the University including oversight of event.

Primary contact to visiting teams prior to arrival and on date of event.

Provide visiting teams with towels as needed. 

Designated gameday manager at all home athletic events.

Facilitate all event security needs with Campus Security and local law enforcement.

Prepare all field and facilities for game day and events including set up and tear down.

Work in coordination with Physical Plant, Security, EPI, Ticketing, Communications, Marketing, and all other Athletic Admin for event effectiveness.

Scheduling and management of gameday staff both part-time and full-time staff.

Diversity

Matthew 22:39 “‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” Jesus’ command for us to love others as ourselves extends to all people. Revelation 7:9 “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb . . .” Charleston Southern University defines diversity as people groups varying in ethnic makeup, cultural background, age, language, educational and professional experience, ability, veteran and/or socioeconomic status. Human Sexuality

Matthew 19:4-5 “ . . . [God] . . . made them at the beginning ‘male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’[.]” Sexuality is one of the ways the marriage covenant between a husband and a wife is sealed and expressed. Marriage is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church and to provide for the man and the woman in marriage the framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards and the means for the procreation of the human race. All forms of sexual intimacy that occur outside the covenant of heterosexual marriage, even when consensual, are distortions of the holiness and beauty God intended for it. The promotion or practice of a homosexual lifestyle (including same-sex dating behaviors) is also contrary to the university’s core values. The promotion of transgenderism fails to uphold the university’s core values.

 

Education:

Deuteronomy 6:6-7a “ . . . these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children . . .” Matthew 28:19-20 “ . . . make disciples of all the nations . . . teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you . . .” Christianity is the faith of enlightenment and intelligence . . . All sound learning is, therefore, a part of our Christian heritage. The new birth opens all human faculties and creates a thirst for knowledge. Moreover, the cause of education in the Kingdom of Christ is co-ordinate with the causes of missions and general benevolence, and should receive along with these the liberal support of the churches. An adequate system of Christian education is necessary to a complete spiritual program for Christ's people.

 

Evangelism and Missions
 Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” It is the privilege and duty of every Christian to share the Gospel of Christ personally and by all other methods in harmony with the Gospel.
