| General Scope of Duties |
As a member of the Director of Athletics leadership team, this position is responsible for department marketing, event management and facilities. This position will attend and actively contribute to the Athletic Department staff meetings and provide feedback, make recommendations on new policies, procedures, programs, and services for continual improvement, and perform other duties as assigned. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of athletic marketing, events, facility rentals and in-game management and be able to successfully and efficiently manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

| General Duties and Responsibilities |
Priority Duties and Responsibilities:
EVENTS:
● Serves as the primary event manager during home athletic events and post season tournaments
(NESCAC and NCAA)
● Oversees all facets of the event to include; emergency action plan, staffing, crowd control,
officials, broadcast, special events & ceremonies, visitors guide
● Assists in the implementation of department, college and website event calendar
● Responsible for athletic facility rentals, staffing and oversight
● Oversee the hiring, training and supervision of all event and facility staff, interns and student
workers •Direct all facility scheduling for events, practices, clubs, and external rentals
● Responsible for all contracts for home events
● Responsible for all officials and external staff for home events to include; assignment,
scheduling, evaluating and payment
● Supervise the Dayton Arena & Athletic Field Manager
FACILITIES:
● Oversight of athletic center, Dayton Arena and outdoor athletic facilities
● Coordinate with facilities team on maintenance of facilities and fields
● Assist AD with oversight of construction projects
MARKETING:
● Work closely with Associate Athletic Director on all marketing and promotions events
● Overseeing the development and implementation of marketing/attendance initiatives to
maximize attendance for home events and championships (NESCAC and NCAA). Including
getting more students, staff and faculty to home events and designing special events to drive
engagement
● Develop effective relationships with internal and external constituents and work to build a fan
centered gameday
● Responsible for effective management, hiring, training and evaluating of marketing interns or
student workers
General Administration – 10%
● Serves as a member of the athletic director’s senior management team. Contributes to
department-wide administration, policy development, and strategic planning efforts.
● Serves on department and college committees.
● Support broader campus usage of athletic facilities beyond varsity athletics to include club,
recreational and fitness.
● Upholds the department’s vision and goals in concert with the College’s mission and values.
● Maintains effective relations with faculty, students, alumni, and athletics support groups.

| Education and Skills |
● Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred in relevant field; Athletic Administration,
Sports Management, Sports Marketing, Marketing or Communications
● 3 – 5 years of progressive experience in professional or collegiate marketing and event
management required
● Demonstrated success host collegiate, conference, and NCAA post-season events.
● Demonstrated ability to lead and direct other.
● Demonstrated experience with risk management and assisting with emergency management
planning.
● Proven ability to work independently and identify and resolve problems efficiently and
effectively.
● Strong organizational skills including the ability to regularly set and manage time-sensitive
priorities and work efficiently under critical deadlines while handling multiple tasks
simultaneously.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Innovative, creative and contributor who recommends and implements new ideas
● Must be able to lift, hold, carry, pack, unpack, transport and deliver materials, supplies and
athletic equipment weighing up to approximately 50 lbs. to and from events or designated
locations.
● Required availability to work extended hours beyond the typical business day, nights and
weekends throughout the year.
