| Position Summary |
As an integral member of Stonehill College’s Department of Athletics, the Assistant Director of Athletics for Recreational Sports will direct all recreational, fitness and sports complex programming while creating and implementing a comprehensive strategic plan to best serve the recreational needs of our student, staff, faculty and community populations. Primary areas of oversight include management of the campus sports complex building operations and associated events, club sports, intramural sports, group exercise offerings and fitness activities.

| Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Create an innovative and engaging recreational environment to enhance student wellness, encourage community participation and support Stonehill’s mission to educate the whole person.
- Direct all aspects of Sports Complex operations, including hiring and training student staff, master scheduling, special event support, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards and exploring new opportunities for utilization
- Deliver a safe and engaging recreation and fitness environment for the use of all community members
- Collaborate with departments across campus to provide a wide array of programming opportunities for a variety of institutional activities
- Oversee the successful operation of club and intramural sport programs
- Understanding of non-traditional hours required of the position, including evening and weekend responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all policies, rules and regulations set forth by Stonehill College and associated member organizations
- Assist in varsity home event operations as needed

| Education and/or Experience |
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university required; three to five years related athletic and recreation experience required.
Demonstrated understanding of the College’s Catholic mission and identity and how Catholic traditions and values enhance the student experience

| Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and commissions. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software, Internet software, Project Management software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
