About American International College:
American International College is a private, coeducational institution of higher education located on an 88+ acre campus in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campus has 42 buildings on two sites approximately 1/2 mile apart with a total of approximately 888,000 gross square feet. Included in the inventory of buildings are student residences for a resident population of 900 students. Founded in 1885, the College has approximately 2200 graduate and undergraduate students. AIC offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs through the Schools of Business, Arts and Sciences; Health Sciences; and Education. AIC sponsors a total of 24 varsity NCAA teams and one varsity club team. Most compete at the NCAA Division II level; however, the men's ice hockey team is an NCAA Division I member of the Atlantic Hockey Conference. AIC is a proud member of the Northeast-10 Conference for most of its NCAA Division II offerings. Wrestling and Men's Volleyball are an NCAA Division II Independent. In addition, the College sponsors rugby for both men and women; the men currently compete in the Liberty Conference while the women compete in the National Intercollegiate Rugby Association Conference.

Job Description:
Serves as a member of the athletics leadership team, ensuring an exceptional student-athlete experience and alignment with the AIC strategic plan.
Provides guidance and leadership of all sports medicine and performance services and ensures the health, well-being, and safety of AIC's student-athletes in accordance with the NATA, NCAA, Northeast 10, Atlantic Hockey, NIRA, and AIC regulations.
Provides rehabilitation and treatment services, and athletic trainer coverage, as needed.
Supervises athletic training and strength & conditioning staffs, student workers, and hourly personnel. Develops and coordinates the sports medicine program, establishing priorities and providing staff management, work direction, scheduling, and training for athletic trainers and student trainers.
Works with other campus constituents, including academic deans and program directors, to develop programs for AIC students to work and learn in applicable areas servicing student-athletes, such as athletic training, strength & conditioning, nutrition, physical therapy, etc.
Promotes a culture of teamwork to optimize work efficiencies and effectiveness.
Ensures rehabilitation objectives and accurate medical and insurance records and billings.
Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Develops and monitors budgets.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Required Degree(s): Master's degree in athletic training or related discipline
Required Field of Expertise: Five (5) years of demonstrated full-time professional experience working in a college sports medicine setting, including a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory and administrative responsibility.
Preferred Field of Expertise: Knowledge of NCAA rules.
Required Training/Cert: Massachusetts Athletic Training License or ability to obtain one within two months of hire. NATA board certification. Adult CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required.
Required Licensure(s): Valid and insurable driver's license by date of hire.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to work with a diverse group of student-athletes, staff, and constituents; and the ability to work under pressure, make decisions, and meet deadlines
Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work with students, coaches, administrators and health care professionals in a broad range of situations
Experience working with electronic health care records
Availability to work nights and weekends.
Additional Information:
Work Schedule
This is a full-time exempt, benefits level position, not limited to 35 hours per week. The schedule will be flexible to the needs of the department with regular office hours to include 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Evenings, weekends, and holidays required as the schedule dictates.
