Job Summary:

Serves on the Department's leadership team as the Head Athletic Trainer and the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the intercollegiate program. Responsible for evaluation, treatment, physical raining, and rehabilitation for male and female STUDENT-athletes in a NCAA Division Ill athletic program.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervision of Assistant Athletic Trainers, per diem athletic trainers, and student labor.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Preparation and coverage of practices and games
• Coordinate pre-participation exams/clearances with HealthServices
• Risk management and prevention of athletic injuries
• Prepare and maintain annual budget and medical supplies inventory
• Assist the Director with development of emergency action plan for all sports and locations
• Evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of all STUDENT-athletes
• Supervise and mentor Assistant Athletic Trainers, per diems, and student athletic trainers
• Manage the daily operations of the athletic training room
• Planning and organizing annual educational programs for STUDENT-athletes
• Develop Strength and Conditioning program for the Department, including facility design
• Must work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Travel may be required
• Other duties as may be assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Current BOC certification
• Massachusetts Athletic Trainers licensure
• First Aid, CPR, AED Certification required
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills
• Knowledge of software programs pertinent to the position
• Strength and Conditioning Certification

Education and Experience:

Master's degree and prior athletic training experience in a collegiate setting preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Use of general office equipment in an office setting. Requires an equal amount of standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing multiple levels of stairs, light lifting, near vision, an< and manual dexterity to perform essential job functions. Requires ability to travel between building,s with exposure to inclement weather conditions.
