Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Assistant Athletic Director - Game and Evert Operations is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of athletic events, including game day operations, facility management, and special events. The position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with NAIA rules and regulations while fostering a positive experience for student-athletes, coaches and fans. Working collaboratively with coaches, athletic staff, and campus partners, the Assistant Athletic Director for Game and Event Operations ensures that all aspects of athletic operations run efficiently and successfully. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to support a high-quality game day environment and overall athletic program success.

 

Performance Evaluation Metrics: 

• Successful execution of home events with minimal operational errors or disruptions
• Timeliness and accuracy of event setup and breakdown
• Game day staff preparedness, training effectiveness, and performance
• Quality of game environment (fan experience, professionalism, organization)

 

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

1. Know and comply with the rules and regulations of the Red River Athletic Conference, the NAIA, and OLLU Policies, Procedures and Practices.
2. Plan, organize, and oversee all home athletic and special events, ensuring efficient and professional execution.
3. Coordinate game day staff, including student workers, officials, security, and event personnel.
4. Manage event setup and breakdown, including facilities, equipment, and signage.
5. Serve as the primary on-site game administrator.
6. Develop and maintain event operations manuals and procedures.
7. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and emergency action plans.
8. Oversee ticketing, crowd management, and fan engagement initiatives.
9. Coordinate scheduling and use of athletic facilities for practices, competitions, and special events.
10. Work with facilities and maintenance staff to ensure venues are competition ready.
11. Manage inventory and maintenance of athletic equipment related to event operations.
12. Assist in monitoring adherence to NAIA rules and regulations.
13. Support eligibility certification, roster management, and documentation.
14. Provide rules education for coaches, staff, and student-athletes to ensure fairness, safety, and compliance.
15. Maintain accurate compliance records and assist with reporting requirements.
16. Collaborate with the Athletic Director on audits and compliance reviews.
17. Attend Athletic Department and campus meetings as needed.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Engages and collaborates in fundraising efforts as coordinated by the athletic director and the advancement office.
2. Assists with special events and tournaments, championships, fundraisers, and/or clinics to include, but not limited to, one major fundraiser per year.
3. Attends staff development meetings, clinics and other professional activities to improve performance.
4. Responsible for producing an annual report at the end of the season evaluating the program with recommendations for improvements.
5. Adheres to university policies, state and federal laws concerning Title IX, HIPPA and FERPA.
6. Other duties as assigned by the athletic directors.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree required.
