Job Description

Assists the Director of Athletics and Recreation with the day-to-day overall coordination and administration of the various activities and tasks associated with the athletic programs, game management, facilities maintenance, compliance, concessions, and ticketing, scheduling, athletic and team travel and purchasing and budgeting. This position is also responsible for assisting the external compliance officer in ensuring athletics and employee compliance with the rules and regulations established by the Nevada System of Higher Education, National Junior College Athletic Association, and the Scenic West Athletic Conference. Interacts with the public, visitors, service vendors, and corporate sponsors.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• 3-4 years in higher education coaching or administration in athletics.

• Game management experience.

• Budgeting Experience, Athletic Travel Experience, NCAA, NAIA or NJCAA Compliance/Eligibility experience.

• Experience with Workday or similar platform/software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.

• 5 years in higher education or coaching in athletics.

• Collegiate Head Coaching Experience.

• Collegiate Office Management Experience.

• Experience with Workday, People Soft, Recruiting Databases.

The duties, knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• Demonstrated knowledge of the day-to-day operations of intercollegiate athletics.

• Knowledge and understanding of NCAA, NAIA or NJCAA, NSHE, Arizona Community College Athletic Conference policies & procedures.

• Ability to manage personnel responsibilities.

• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.

• Ability to effectively work with a diverse student population, staff, faculty, and parents.

• Experience using and interpreting FERPA and HIPAA policies.

• Strong overall communication skills; excellent writing and editorial abilities, & commitment to quality.

• Extensive knowledge with internal and external auditing procedures.

• Ability to apply budgeting and fiscal planning techniques within financial constraints.

• Ability to represent the Office of Athletics in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.

• Knowledge of sport event management.

• Knowledge of athletic environment and ticket sales.

• Supervisory skills and ability to hire and manage qualified students and wage workers

• Knowledge of marketing and promotional activities.

• Knowledge of accounting principles and methods.

• Appropriate Cash handling training and oversight protection.
