Quinnipiac Athletics seeks an Assistant Athletic Director of Academic Support to assist basketball and ice hockey student-athletes in reaching their academic success and balancing their athletic responsibilities. This position promotes the holistic approach to academic achievements by monitoring individual and team academic progress, retention and eligibility set by University, Conference and NCAA eligibility requirements.
Quinnipiac University is a private, coeducational institution located 90 minutes north of New York City and two hours from Boston. Work with students in preparing academic plans and course schedules each semester.
Monitor academic performance and student-athlete compliance with NCAA and university academic requirements including progress toward degree certification.

Assist student-athletes in time management and learning support strategies.
Serve as advocate for student-athletes and as a liaison for academic progress with coaches, faculty, academic administrators and the Learning Commons.
Collaborate with SAAST (Student-Athlete Academic Support Team) staff members and Student Development to build holistic programming for student-athletes and their transition within their career and throughout each semester.
Participate in on-campus recruiting activities with prospective student-athletes.
Travel with team on extended road trips when necessary
Attend and/or participate in professional development opportunities on an annual basis.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree required
Master's degree preferred
3-5 years of experience in educational assistance of student athletes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong organizational skills.
Significant skill in the use of computer software, not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Blackboard, social media platforms and learning management systems
An understanding of NCAA rules and regulations
Effective communication and organizational skills
Ability to work nights and weekends as required
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
