Job Description

Nature of Work: The Assistant Director Athletic under the direction of an Associate Director or above, plays an integral role in the design, development, implementation and interpretation of departmental processes and/or programs.

Typical Responsibilities: Advise and assist in planning, directing and reporting of the activities of one or more functional areas within a department.Contribute to the short and long term vision and planning for the department. Assist in developing and/or managing the implementation of policies, processes, and training. Serve in an advisory capacity, providing coaching and consultation with student athletes on academic, athletic, social and personal issues. Develop proposals, recommendations and reports for senior leadership. Interpret laws, rules, policies & procedures and ensure complianceDuring declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Required Qualifications: This position requires either (a) Master’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; (b) Bachelor’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and four years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 8 years of direct experience.

 

Broadcast Operations
Position is responsible for all aspects of UNF Athletics broadcasts including planning, operations, staffing, and budget. Broadcasts include ESPN+ productions, TV productions, online streaming, and other similar platforms. Position will direct and produce broadcasts. Oversight of innovations, additions, plans for broadcasts, expansions. Primary contact for broadcast, serving as liaison to outside crews. Training, recruiting and scheduling/staffing OPS employees, graduate assistants, student assistants and interns. Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of equipment in the production room and throughout all Athletics facilities. Archives all broadcasts. Aware of and implement new broadcast practices and technologies. Works with engineers to assure sound and streamlined operations. 

Special Events/Projects Production
Videos and produces major events such as media days, Hall of Fame, special announcements, promotional days and outings, etc. Works in-tandem with marketing, strategic communications, creative video. Ensures sponsor fulfillment is met. Works with SIDs to coordinate storytelling and consistency. Shares content (melts, games, audio with creative). Aids Creative video in video shoots. Provides any extra assistance on video shoot day. Suggests content curation to be tied into broadcasts. Serves as liaison with external events who need access to the control room or have audio/visual needs. 

Technology Operations
Responsible for the technical end of operations. Integrates broadcasts with in-house experiences. Responsible for all aspects of official replay systems at all Athletics facilities. Point of contact for audio/visual functions at all facilities. Troubleshoots issues with audio/visual technology. Support all future audio/visual projects that would enhance Athletics facilities and events. Serve as the point of contact with IT and outside companies for all audio/visual needs and requests.

Member of the external operations team which is responsible for the advancement of the Athletic Departments’ external affairs, brand awareness and enhancement, social media presence, and revenue generation. The position will accept additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or designee.
