Assistant Athletic Trainer

SUMMARY: Responsible for the evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of Palm Beach Atlantic University varsity student-athletes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support of the Sports Medicine Program

• Support the Athletic Training staff in daily practice and event coverage, along with travel to away competitions with assigned teams.
• Assist with the daily operations of the athletic training room.
• Maintain accurate record keeping using Vivature EMR. Jump Forward, and NCAA Insurance Documentation.

Supervision of Staff

• Assists with the recruitment and hiring of competent and effective support staff.
• Mentor and supervise support staff.

Adherence to Regulatory Compliance

• Responsible for working in adherence to all budgetary guidelines, as well as University, Sunshine State Conference (SSC) and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Attend mandatory compliance and departmental meetings as scheduled.
• Maintain appropriate certifications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• A Master’s degree (or international equivalent) in an appropriate discipline required with one to three (1-3) years’ experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer providing sports medicine coverage for an athletic team.
