Under the general supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director, the Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of injuries within the University’s comprehensive sports medicine program.
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses
Evaluation of athletic injuries
Treatment of athletic injuries
Providing counseling and education to student athletes
Athletic training administrative duties
Assist with coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competitions
Supervision, education and recruitment of potential student athletic trainers
Record keeping and documentation
Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes
Work in conjunction with the coaching staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, conditioning programs customized to meet individual student athlete needs
Maintain current certification status and stay up to date on all continuing education requirements by utilizing continuing education outlets to explore new ideas and adapt into the training room environment

Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in related area; master’s degree preferred.
Certificate/License
Must be BOC certified (and in good standing) and CPR/First Aid certified (Professional Rescuer).
Experience
Moderate collegiate experience preferred.
Methodology and practice in muscle energy, Massage Cupping, Graston technique and Kinesiotaping preferred but not required.
Skills
Strong knowledge of injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The anticipated salary for this position is $58,000 – $66,500 and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
