Position Summary:

Southern Illinois University Carbondale is an NCAA Division I member of the Missouri Valley and Missouri Valley Football Conferences.  We are currently seeking to hire one Assistant Athletic Trainer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:  Assists in the care, prevention, management, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic-related injury and illness coverage for home events as assigned and travel as deemed necessary.  Assist in the daily coverage of the athletic training facilities.  Supervise Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers.  Maintain timely and accurate medical records, and coordinate referrals to team physician and medical specialists when appropriate.

Appointment:  12 Month term, full-time, salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, and CPR and AED certified.
• Eligibility for National Athletic Trainer Association Board of Certification (NATA-BOC) and Illinois Athletic Training License.

This is a security sensitive position.  The University will conduct a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check, prior to any employment offer.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred one year of supervisory experience as an Athletic Trainer at the collegiate level.
