Quincy University’s Athletic Training Department is currently accepting applications for full-time Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will work as part of the Athletic Training Staff in providing the highest level of health care for a diverse population of student-athletes and various NCAA Division II sports. Specific sport assignments will be determined by Head Athletic Trainer
Essential Responsibilities for both positions include but are not limited to the following:
Serves as a representative of the University, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the QU community and with the public.
Provide Athletic Training coverage; this includes practices and event (home/away).
Work directly with the team physician, coaches, local hospital, and rehabilitation centers to coordinate treatment of Quincy University student-athletes.
Provide coaches with appropriately updated injury reports in a timely manner.
Administer all athletic training documentation (insurance forms, injury reports, physical forms, etc.).
Assist in managing all insurance claim documentation and insurance pre-certifying (making sure proper coverage for medical services locally or referred by team physician will be covered under primary insurance provider). This includes completing incident reports online for secondary insurance purposes in a timely manner and maintaining proper insurance documentation.
Manage and care for all athlete files generated and updated on a yearly basis for new and returning athletes.
Required team travel with various sports.
Provide excellent communication to coaching staff, parents, and athletes.
Assist with the supervision all aspects of the University’s athletic training facilities and the provision of necessary equipment and supplies.
Assist in establishing appropriate policies and procedures in conjunction with the Athletic Training Staff and potential assistance in the supervision and clinical supervision of Athletic Training Students.

Abide by the policies, regulation, and rules of the NCAA, NATA, GLVC conference, and Quincy University including the Quincy University Code of Ethics.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer & Director of Athletics.

Candidates must currently possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree; National Athletic Trainer Association- Board of Certification (NATA-BOC) and Illinois Athletic Training License (or eligible).
Current CPR/AED Certification.
