Job Description

AVAILABLE: Immediately.This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

SALARY/RANK: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: Earned Bachelor’s degree required from a CAATE -approved Athletic Training Education Program, Master's degree preferred. Current NATA-BOC certification, eligibility for a Pennsylvania State license, and current First aid, CPR, AED certification required. Previous clinical experience in intercollegiate athletics preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a driving record in accordance with the Waynesburg University Driving Requirements and Driver Safety Policy. Familiarity with a variety of software such as Athletic Training Software (ATS), Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, etc. preferred. Candidates must be available to work weekdays, evenings and weekends, and have the ability to multitask and work independently to meet deadlines. Candidate should possess strong analytical and communication skills and have demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various constituent groups. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University's Mission, and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students.

REPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the Associate Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine, and Team Physician. This individual has a recognizable responsibility for the athletic training services for varsity, junior varsity, and club sports at Waynesburg University in a professional manner at all times. The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to, providing prevention and care of injuries, development and implementation of rehabilitation programs, maintaining medical records including documentation of injuries and treatments, scheduling medical appointments, sports coverage for assigned practice and games which may require travel, and assisting with administrative duties. Additionally, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will oversee the oversight of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control as wells as assist in the supervision and education of graduate athletic training students as a Preceptor within Waynesburg University’s graduate athletic training program.
