The University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites resumes for a full-time, twelve months, exempt, contractual position with limited benefits. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist in the day to day duties of 14 varsity intercollegiate sports. The position involves working weekends, evenings, holidays, and travel with collegiate athletic teams. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in all aspects of healthcare for the student-athletes. Assist with the organizational and administrative duties of the athletic training facility. Medical record keeping. Staff scheduling. Assist with inventory and budget. Pre-participation screenings of student-athletes. Preseason preparation and practices. Initial treatment, evaluation, and rehabilitation of student-athletes. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training BOC Certification in Athletic Training CPR/First Aid Certification Licensure in the State of Maryland or in process for licensure Experience working with basic computer applications. Interest in collegiate athletics
Good injury evaluation and rehabilitation skills. Ability to perform in high-stress situations. Excellent listening and communication skills. Empathy, Compassion, Patience and Persistence. Time management and critical thinking skills.
